I’m in the process of creating a book of dragons. It will be a 210cm square hardback with 100 pages and 46 individual dragons, and it will be £20 (+£5.50 shipping to mainland UK). The pages that aren’t occupied with full colour pictures of dragons have words on them. Each dragon has a little “story” associated with them – some are just a sentence or two, but one has been expanded to cover serveral pages and a few black and white illustrations! The 21st Century Dragon is an art book, and it’s meant to be fun. It’s not a children’s book, although it might look like one: while there is nothing in the book to offend, youngsters may miss some of the cultural references (generally to old popular music). The book is intended for anyone with the sort of imagination that takes them into the fabulous realms of fairy tale and myth, and maybe for those who would like to visit those places but arent sure of the way.

Orders will be open until midnight GMT on 1 June 2025. If, at that stage, I have at least 20 orders, I will request payment* and go ahead with publishing the book. If I don’t have 20 orders, the book won’t happen and I will refund any payments already made.
All advance orders will be signed and numbered on the title page in whatever colour ink I feel like using on the day. The initial print run, if it happens, will be small (at least, I’m expecting it to be small – I’m aiming at 50), and should I ever reprint it I will change which dragon is on the cover.
*Payment requests will default to a SumUp link that can be paid online using a credit or debit card.
